FamSnap Privacy Policy

FamSnap helps parents keep real moments of their kids — photos and short voice recordings — and turn them into printed books. Your family's memories belong to you. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and what control you have.
What we collect
- Photos you capture in the app (front and back camera).
- Voice recordings (up to 15 seconds) that you choose to record — typically of your own children. Recordings are made by you, on your device, only when you tap record.
- Child profile details you enter — first name, birthday, and an optional photo, used to organize your timeline and personalize your books.
- Location (optional) — a city name attached to moments, only if you grant location permission. You can decline and everything still works.
- Account info — email and name if you sign in with Apple.
- Order details — shipping address and email when you purchase a printed book. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Usage and crash data — anonymous app analytics and crash reports (Firebase) that help us fix problems and improve the app.
Where it lives
Your moments are stored on your device and backed up to our cloud (Google Firebase), encrypted in transit and at rest. Voice recordings and photos are private to your account and your invited family members — they are not publicly accessible.
Sharing — always your choice
- Family members you invite (with a code you control) can see moments and react to them.
- Share links — when you explicitly share a moment, a copy becomes viewable by anyone with that link. Only moments you deliberately share work this way.
- Printed books — QR codes in your book play your voice recordings for whoever scans them, which is the point of the product.
- We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. Ever.
Children's privacy
FamSnap is built for parents, not children. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Photos and recordings of children are created and controlled entirely by their parent or guardian.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete Account permanently removes your account, your moments, your photos, and your voice recordings from our servers. Completed book orders are retained as transaction records (as required for accounting), but contain no photos or recordings. You can also email us and we'll delete everything for you.
